Biography
I grew up in a small country town in Australia called Wingham until I turned 12. I was then sent away to "the big smoke" which was what the country kids called Sydney, where I would spend the next 6 years in Boarding School. After receiving my HSC, I went on to complete a bachelors degree in Fine Art at UNSW, majoring in painting. It was during this time (1995-1998) that my interest in Art became my primary concern. I was taught by many well respected working artists including Archibald winner Wendy Sharpe and Alun Leach-Jones. Julian Ashton School of Art was my next great educational experience where I enrolled in a drawing class. It was here that I learned the important aspects of three dimensional forms and how to create the illusion on canvas. The Australian landscape has proved to be an ongoing inspiration for my work even as I travel the world.
